hot links
these linkable notebooks from start here are pretty brilliant. to combine notebooks, you just slip the cover from one into the cover of the other. run out of space? no problem! need some graph paper, and a sketchbook? ain't no thang. they come in a bunch of different formats: planner, lined, graph paper, unlined, and sets for $14-18 each.

itsy bitsy jotter
These little matchbook notepads are great for when you need to jot down some quick thoughts.
Especially for when you're traveling...which is just my way of saying I'm leaving for my much awaited-Southeast Asia trip (meeting my boyfriend!) in 10 days. It's time to get excited about this, right? Above, owl notepad ($6 from Doe)
Bird Notepad ($6 from Doe)

also, whiskers on kittens
we're liking the contrast of these chipboard notebooks from pinecone+chickadee ($15 each). the white against the brown and the lightness of the imagery against the weight of the board add a feeling of substance and depth.
sorry, something about brown paper brings out the aesthetic in me. and the unlikely romantic. does brown paper do anything for you?

now go make me a drink
we wish we knew how to make something out of nothing. to be honest, the thing we know how to make best is a fuss. but nothing could be further from the truth for the folks at wotadot. they make good, make art, and make our planet a better place with their recyclelope notes, 25-page notebooks that are made of used envelopes. each book is 0ne-of-a-kind and comes with a free "recycle" badge. and with a deal like 4 euros each, that makes it a steal.

sacre bleu!
as if we could possibly need another notebook or journal (I think I may have some on my shelf, still unused, from college. and we won't even say how long ago that was. paris was still a place, not a social disease), but if we were about to unwisely indulge in yet another, it would be one of these from laughing elephant. and we wouldn't even have a hard time choosing which one, because at $3.95 apiece, we could buy two of these and the craziest big iced chai for under $10.

To do pad from Knock Knock, $6.99
Accomplish Pad from Knock Knock, $6.99

small stump
Their "Celebrate" banner caught our eye on Poppy Talk, so of course we had to go and check out Small Stump's etsy shop. Well, guess what? There's a bunch of stuff we love. Surprise surprise. Above, log village notepad, $8.
Tea for me silkscreen print, $15
Mini forever cupcakes, $10 (We know, we know...this isn't paper. But how could we resist?)

IN THE NEWS: Snookus today, gone tomorrow
We spotted this post on paper crave about Snookus notepads. When we went to the site to see the Snookus (we just can't stop saying it!) bounty for ourselves, what did we find? A sale section! Oh yes...and a cupcake pad ($4) that encouraged putting things off. Sales, cupcakes and procrastination, a winning combination. There are other pads on sale too, for up to 40%. Check it out today, or tomorrow...or whenever.

neighborhood news
Neighborhood news is our way of bringing you complete coverage of all the stationery news on the 'net, even if we can't do full reviews of absolutely everything. In other words, sometimes we have to go make a sandwich. We can't help it, we love sandwiches.
Above, 8 for $15 from blackbird letterpress [via design*sponge]

In July, 2007 Mirage Paper Co. will launch a new line by Carolyn Gavin called ecojot. Ecojot notebooks are 100% recycled and are made from 100% post-consumer products. They are sweatshop free and are completely biodegradable, right down to the inks and glues they use.
CNN's blog, Young People who Rock, features Joanna Alberti. Joanna is 25 years old and designs her own stationery and clothing line, PhiloSophie. Her phrases, like "Keep your nails painted and your hand raised" seem fine, but how can it possibly compare to all the fine stationery that crosses our desk(top)? A note to the "Sex & The City set": do explore our links section. Click any one, any one at all. It's a big, beautiful world in here. [via Gawker]

how very meta
These notepads from Bombus ($15 each) are decoupaged with...paper. Well, specifically vintage maps and awesome comics (in your choice of comic strip). See, we didn't even know we needed a new notebook. How convenient. We wonder if she has any vintage Family Circle Circus or Marmaduke comic strips...
What comic strip would you want?

to do
Okay, we must confess. We love making lists. Especially to do lists. Not because we really like doing stuff, per se, it's more about the satisfaction one receives from doing stuff and then being able to cross it off your list. If we could just find a way to skip straight through to crossing stuff off, we'd be doubly happy.
Anyway, being a lover of lists and a lover of stationery, we've found that we have a lot of notepads (for example, the to do list notepad pictured above we recently bought from boygirlparty) and not enough stuff to do.
Well, web worker daily's Six More Reasons to Use a Paper To Do List comes in handy. Especially since the first reason at the top of the list is: "To buy and try cool pens and notebooks." Yeah, you're speaking our language...
Anyway, you tell us. Do you like using paper to do lists? Or have you moved on to electronic versions?

biscotti is just stale cake
We here at Jotter have what we like to call an "excess of personality." Some might translate that into "attention deficit issues" or "an abiding love of all things sugar-coated" (and not just our personal deficiencies, mind you). What better to help us focus on the must-get-dones like these brightly colored self-adhesive notepads from russell + hazel? We love these cheerful tones like a puffy blogger (it's water weight, we swear!) loves cake.

mouse pad notepad
We love multi-taskers around here, so of course this mouse pad notepad from see jane work ($8.50) makes us giggle nerdily in our desk chairs. There are more images from the site below. It's like porn...sweet stationery porn.
