make your own wallpaper

For all you New York City dwellers out there, Make Workshop has updated their summer '07 calendar and of course, the wallpaper making workshop stands out as a particularly great thing to go do. It's $240 (plus supplies) for a total of 5 hours but "you'll leave the workshop with samples and the skills needed to create a large-scale finished product: gorgeous, one-of-a-kind handprinted wallpaper" (from their description). The images pictured are samples fromt the Make site.

mini folders

We do love our folders but sometimes we want something a little more wee... (What can we say? We're never satisfied.) These miniature folders from Donovan Beeson ($8) are perfect for recipe cards, receipts, etc. Because, like mom said, it's the little things that matter (C'mon, it's Friday. Say "Awww....").

waterfall of paper love

The problem with paper (we can't believe we just said "problem" and "paper" in the same sentence) is that it's so easy for it to become disorganized. You put a stack here, a stack there and before you know it, you're being consumed by all the letters, bills, etc that show up in your life. Well, maybe this cascading file tote ($14.99 from the Container store) will help. We'd like to think that one day we'll have a home office. And we'll keep that home office really organized. And this little file tote will hang on the wall and we'll call it our waterfall of paper love. Yup, these are the kinds of fantasies we have... [via Outblush]

blooms, the floral kind and the hunky kind

while we're letting out raging folder-lust run wild, how about these scented folder inserts? Each one below is letterpressed with a poem, to boot. Thankfully, the scents themselves are in no way boot-related. You can choose from lavender, vanilla, grapefruit or peach. Personally, we'd prefer something a little less fake-botanical to smell. How about freshly baked cookies? Or Orlando Bloom? 12 for $17 for these or...6 for $24 for the letterpressed ones.

fabu folders

As promised, we've indulged in some more printed folder fondling. Here are some more cheerful specimens we covet with every fiber of our sluggish, Tuesday afternoon hearts. Above, because to us having it together is definitely worth bragging about, 6 for $7.50 from See Jane Work. Kicky deco botanicals and houndstooth hilarity, 6 for $6.95 from PepperPot via See Jane Work. And our favorite, of course: Parisienne perfection! 12 for $17

file under O for Obsessed

This post almost ended up being epic. Seriously, I dodged the bullet by this much. It all started out with these file folders. What outstanding folders thought I, which lead me to ponder my inexplicable attraction to printed folders. I can't explain what makes me do the things I do, complimenting co-workers on their folders until they're forced to hand over a couple from their own stash; taping pretty folders to the outside of drab hanging file holders (pretty much wasting them in order to put them on display). Why not, I thought, put together a sort of roundup of charming folders, so that everyone could experience the file-lovin' joy I foster in my heart? Well, it was a long spiritual journey that lead me to the painful truth: there are just too many sweet folders out there to fit in one post. So with that in mind, I bring you a small selection of what I found, with the promise of many more to come. Above, $9 for the set of four at One Good Bumblebee.

Six for $6 at Bob's your Uncle

Twelve for $17 at Cavallini & Co.
