what a boar

called the "boring boar," we think the name is not completely apt. this card would be a hilarious choice for when your message is not quite standard, like "sorry i've been such a bore lately" or "i'm happier than a pig in shit when i'm with you." well, you get what we're trying to say. $2 each from time2cre8

beachy blues

even though neither of us are in school, we can't ignore that "back to school" feeling. summer is more or less over, but we're savoring the last scraps of the season. these cards from lizard press are a big help...well, these top three anyway. the other two are just plain fun. [via design*sponge]

modern nostalgia

who says that silhouettes belong to cameos and other reliquary? we're loving these modern outlines from printed matter. their images are refreshingly simple and they kind of remind us of ipod ads. $3.50 each [via decor8]

oh happy day!

Okay, it's no particular holiday, but there is reason to celebrate. I GET TO FLY HOME TOMORROW! Yup, I'm still in Southeast Asia because I missed my flight and it's been a couple of days filled with calling different airlines, going to the airport to try and fly on standby and waiting around for the American branch of the office to open--which is only after the Filipino branch is already closed because there's a 12 hour time difference.

Who knew it would be this hard to stop being on vacation?

Anyway, the blogging itch got the better of me and I'm in an internet cafe with some time to kill so that's why you're getting this update. Oh, and this awesome card from Kateisgreat80. It costs $2, which is approximately 90 Filipino pesos.

pearfection

so...we only got through page 4 of the 9 pages of goodies at petit pear, and these are all the items we absolutely could not resist posting. it's an explosion of goodness so amazing, so charming, we have to go lie down. it's a mixed bag, but most of them are gift tags and are priced at approx. 8 for $3.50. band aids

i got my sister the card below for valentine's day last year (what can i say? if flirting with your sister is wrong, then i don't wanna be right), but i have a new crush from the great lakes cards. it's called "i'm with the band." i don't know what bands have to do with birthdays, but i think i can put reason aside for another day, in this case.

sweet n simple

it's friday and we're filled with a simple kind of joy, the joy that comes from knowing that our favorite band is playing not one, but two dates in ny in october (we won't divulge who they are until we buy our tickets, but after that it's a no-holds lovefest). and while we're singing the praises of simple things, how about this cute lil' number from sunlitletterpress: sweet and to-the-point. $4 each

PaPa-Yeah

papaya has all their bases covered with their blank notecard designs. from victorian to artsy-modern, we're having a hard time finding one we don't love. good color combos too, no? $4 each [via decor8]

woodgrain

the woodgrain rage is obviously going strong, and we don't mind a bit. there should be paper goods that appeal to all tastes, though obviously we have no complaints about what's out there. Still, send the serious soul in your life a nice notecard from Mateo Ilasco. They'll thank you. $5 for 1, $14 for a set of 3

'shroom you later!

You're getting this nicey nice card because I'm leaving for vacation and I won't be blogging for TWO WEEKS. I wonder if I can make it. (Anyway, if I can't, there are plenty of internet cafes in Asia.)

Don't worry, I'll be taking pictures of everything and scooping up all sorts of fun stationery and handmade goodness to share when I get back. Bye!

poodle hopping

these 3D pop up invitations from lucy jane batchelor are so sweet, we kind of want to put them in shadow boxes and hang them on a wall. there are lots of other cute things on her site, as well. our favorite is the "make yourself a balloon poodle" card, which comes with two balloons. too bad we're having trouble grabbing a pic of it. a little rain must fall

oooh, the crazy graphic goodness of cartolina cards is exactly what we need to cheer us up after a night of possible tornados (in Brooklyn? getouttahere!) and a particularly heinous commute. the collage-y composition of the thank you cards above is especially gloom defying. [via poppytalk]

you know those cards...

You hold on to forever because you can't find someone great enough to give it to? These cards from Lisa Congdon would definitely belong in that batch. We're so in love with them! (And no, it's not just because we're in a "printed on vintage book pages" sort of mood).

The one pictured above is part of a 6 card set (for $14). And hey, the Francophile in us can't help but point out that she used vintage pages from a French book. (There's nothing we love more than reading French text and proving to ourselves that we still remember everything our high school French teacher taught us. Merci beaucoup, Madame Antoniak.)

wrapscallion

there are tons of things to swoon over at bell'occhio but, so as not to overwhelm you with beauty (it is only monday, after all), here's a theme: scalloped edges. they make paper look like little confectionery treats. and we're especially loving the box design of the petit victronel cards. 24 cartes for $25 gift wrap, 6 sheets for $6 $8, but it doesn't say for how many cards, 12 for $6 for the big ones, 24 for $6 for the teensy ones

fooooood!

This week's back in time round up is all about food. Because if a girl couldn't give a shout out to all her favorite food on a Friday afternoon, this would be a sad sad world. So, I like to eat...

  • Chinese Food
  • Ice Cream
  • Apples
  • French Fries

What do you like to eat? (And/or use as stationery, lol.)

    yo

we get a kick out of it when modern sentiments are juxtaposed with the old, delicate look of letterpress. next up, how about "surrrriously...."?

what "now" phrase would you like to see on a letterpressed card?

3 for $9 from pinkbathtub [via poppytalk]

    pretty perfect

many unique, pretty little sentiments, all 6 for $9 from turtle papers. there are quite a few more, but these are our favorites. how often do you see "thanks for hosting cards?" normally, you just have to settle for a regular old "thank you," but we like the specificity of this much better.
