pretty postage

vintage stamps are so interesting and pretty; they just don't make them like they used to, so we're always very pleased when someone does the work for us. that's why we like these flats and pre-stamped envelopes from greer chicago. $5.50 each. [via design*sponge]

reminder: stamp prices up today

Remember when Jotter was a wee new blog (a whole month ago) and we said something about stamp rates going up May 14th? Well, apparently we (and the USPS) weren't lying and it's happening today. In addition to those damn 2 cent stamps you'll need for your 39 cent ones to get up to par, pick up some Forever stamps so the next time there's an increase you won't have to worry (or do math--which is always the worst part). For the down and dirty details on the rate hikes, USPS has an "easy reference" PDF.

paris je t'aime

While we're on the subject of movie as stationery, here's some more Frenchy inspired stationery for the Paris Je T'aime watching set. (On a side note, we went and saw this last week, but I think we might have been distracted by our growling stomachs from really enjoying the movie. Also, Elijah Wood as a vampire? I don't think so...) The above is a Cavallini notebook ($10.95) from Stampington & Co.

Paris stamp set ($24.49)from Alpha Stamps

Eiffel Tower notecards ($14 for a set of 8) from square business design

POMP & CIRCUMSTANCE: part 3

As Spring semesters everywhere begin to come to a close, it seems as though everyone knows someone about to walk down the aisle...to graduate, at least. For our pomp & circumstance series, we'll hunt down great graduation cards and save you the trouble of searching for just the right pick. Okay, we cheated a little. This isn't a card at all, but a stamp you can use to make your own sarcastic greeting of congratulations. Stamp it all over some printer paper and voila... [$8.50 from paper source]
